1920s inspired Photography project

description

This was a work of 2 day Fashion Photography workshop led by Elke Bock [London-based photographer and lecturer]. The theme was "Robotics" inspired by the Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection [2024] as well as Frankenstein in literature and electric dolls in cultural history to Meg3an and Poor Things in film. So in collaboration with Margarida Vasconcelos Pedroso, on the first day we created a vision board for the art direction of this photoshoot. As a team we chose to highlight the unconventional way of looking at robotics, focusing more on the old, 'Frankenstein' 1920s look of it. To achieve the look we were going for, we had to pay attention to the harsh light and shadows while keeping the faded out "analog" look visible. I took the role of directing the model and taking photographs as well as post processing. In total it took 2 days of collaboration with Margarida to finalize the project.
